Quilting - Week 5 Spinning Stars

This week we take on the fifth row of our quilt, the Spinning Stars.

Once again, don't forget to 'quilting in the ditch' of your whole quilt before you start adding in the details. This will keep everything nice and straight.

If your going to use the 'Quilt as you go' technique, you can just ditch stitch each row as you come to it.

Without further ado, sit back and relax while Heather gives us the low down on this weeks row.

Quilting row 1:

1. If you haven't already, Stitch in the ditch around all the blocks. Heather suggests ditch stitching the bottom third of the block, then going back and ditching the top third. The middle portion is ditched at the same time as the fill designs.

2. Using a matching thread complete the background quilting, the start channel is quilted using the variegated thread.

Heather only used the variegated thread in the star this week, the rest is quilted using a matching thread..
